Crowley Crawl 2025

CROWLEY CRAWL 2025

Come discover the City of the Beast!

Step back into the shadowy streets of Edwardian London and follow in the footsteps of the notorious Great Beast himself.

The Crowley Crawl 2025 is a walking tour through Central London’s most clandestine corners, where Aleister Crowley once practiced his arcane rites and rubbed shoulders with occult underground society.

From the hidden lodgings off Chancery Lane to the storied private chambers in Victoria, we will reveal the magical experiments, séances, and secret ceremonies that took place behind closed doors.

You’ll hear scandalous tales of Crowley’s flamboyant rituals along the Thames, learn about the symbols he carved into the city’s fabric, and even pause at the very pubs where he recruited disciples and confounded polite society.

We will walk by Caxton Hall, whose ornate Great and York Halls hosted Crowley’s notorious Rites of Eleusis in October–November 1910, a fusion of theatrical spectacle and ritual that scandalised the London press.

And prepare to unearth the hushed sanctuaries of London’s Masonic temples (some grandly trumpeted, others tucked away in unmarked courtyards) and delve into Crowley’s stormy dalliance with the Brotherhood, where fierce admiration and wary suspicion danced hand in hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • While the tour involves walking for the full duration, we maintain a very slow, leisurely pace suitable for those of moderate fitness; no strenuous hiking or steep climbs are required

  • London weather can be unpredictable, so please come prepared with a sturdy umbrella (or a hooded raincoat); a compact brolly makes all the difference during an unexpected downpour.

  • Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. A small daypack, water bottle, and umbrella are recommended to ensure you stay comfortable and dry throughout the tour.

  • You may cancel up to 48 hours before the tour for a full refund; cancellations made less than 48 hours prior are non-refundable.

  • Once your booking and payment are confirmed, you will receive a detailed information package via email including the exact meeting point, start time, and your guide contact details.

Please check your inbox (and spam folder) after payment, as this information is sent automatically to the email address you provided at checkout.

  • Absolutely not, curiosity is the only prerequisite.

The Crowley Crawl is part history walk, part storytelling session, and part initiation into one of the most remarkable (and misunderstood) figures of the 20th century. If you already know a bit about Crowley, you’ll enjoy spotting the deeper connections. If you’ve never heard of him until now, you’ll get a short, lively introduction at the start so you can follow the thread of the story.

Think of it as stepping into a mystery: the more you know, the more layers you’ll notice, but you don’t need to arrive as an expert to leave intrigued.

What our guests are saying…

  • I had a fantastic time on the Crowley Crawl. Marco is extremely knowledgeable about Aleister Crowley and other esoteric subjects.

The other Crowley Crawlers in the group were a lovely bunch and I had fun getting to know them and sharing opinions.

    I highly recommend this tour.

  • Marco Visconti's Crowley Crawl delivers an informative and entertaining perspective on the life of one of London's most infamous and maybe most misunderstood residents.

With wit and knowledge Marco takes you back to the early 1900s and lets you breath the air of those magical times on location.

    A great experience!

  • I want to thank you for a fascinating walk yesterday. I apologise for my less than ebullient energy, I’ve been pushing my activity levels and currently the pain is real!

Despite that it was a glorious day and it was pleasing to see such good attendance.

I believe that the current format is almost too much value for money!

  • Thanks for the tour yesterday.

I felt energised afterwards and slept extremely well last night.

  • Marco's August Crowley Crawl has set the bar high for occult walks around London. We visited many sites associated not only with Crowley but also with people in his circle such as Leila Waddell, Mary D’Este, and more.

Marco's great knowledge of occult London shone through, and he told us a great deal about magick and about the locations we passed.

I'd highly recommend his walk which was well thought out, imaginative, and inspirational

  • Thanks for an excellent afternoon, I really enjoyed it and found it stimulating and enjoyable. I would happily do any other walks that you organise. I knew it would be good as I have been to some of your talks and also read your book, and was not disappointed. I felt that we brought Crowley’s London to life briefly. It was a really lovely and interesting bunch of people that came along as well.

I liked the psychogeographic element you added and would be interested in doing something like that again. A magickal derive, so to speak.
