Writing an online biography is always tricky, but let’s try: I’m Marco Visconti, and I am London-based antiques and rare book trader and consultant; I specialise in esoteric literature, with a particular interest in Thelema and Crowleyana.

Between 2014 and 2018 I worked as Online Shop Manager of Treadwell’s Books, a hub of international expertise on Western esotericism, optimising daily operations and online sales, and building a strong network with distributors, editors, writers, academics, and collectors worldwide. In August 2017 I also went on managing the newly formed Special Projects department, focusing on events and media outreach, and these days I am working towards debuting my own book trading endeavour – check this space!

Beyond that, as artner of renowned Italian business consultancy Visconti Lab since 2008, I focused on my family business’ overseas operations. Visconti Lab is a boutique consulting agency that has delivered strategy, business innovation, competitive analysis, financing, franchising, mergers and acquisitions to corporate and individual clients.

In what I now call a previous life, I was a music professional with an international career spanning over 15 years, gaining credence as a countercultural figure in the alternative underground scene. I am a founding member of electro industrial band XP8, and was a live member of Faderhead, Unter Null, Grendel, and VNV Nation. As DJ Azrael, my ministrations included Resistanz Festival, Club AntiChrist and Slimelight (UK), Death Guild (San Francisco, CA), Summer Darkness (Utrecht, NL), and Zoe Club, Decadence, and Ritual (Italy), and countless others.

A Thelemite and Freemason, I have been a prominent member of the international esoteric community for over two decades. My good fiend, Italian science-fiction author Francesco Dimitri, paid a tribute to my underground persona through his signature character Dagon in La Ragazza dei miei Sogni. A film adaptation was released in 2017 (trailer here). I was responsible for the translation of numerous key esoteric texts from English to Italian, such as Michael Bertiaux’s Lucky Hoodoo and Cosmic Meditation, and Kenneth Grant’s Against the Light.

I currently organise and run a series of workshops, teaching the basis of Thelema, Rosicrucianism, and Esoteric Freemasonry to a wider public outside the bonds of sworn oaths.

Want to know more about my upcoming workshops, seminars, and lectures?

Or maybe hear about what happens in the wider occulture, always with my classic dose of snark?
