Marco Visconti is a London-based antiques and rare book trader and consultant. He specializes in esoteric literature, with a particular interest in Thelema and Crowleyana. As Online Shop Managing Director of Treadwell’s Books, a hub of international expertise on Western esotericism, Marco has optimized daily operations and online sales, and has contributed to building a strong network with distributors, editors, writers, academics, and collectors worldwide. He regularly participates in international conferences and trade events, such as the Glastonbury Occult Conference. In August 2017 he moved on to managing the newly formed Special Projects department, focusing on events and media outreach.
As Partner of renowned Italian business consultancy Visconti Lab, Marco focuses on overseas operations. Since 2006, Visconti Lab has delivered strategy, business innovation, competitive analysis, financing, franchising, mergers and acquisitions to corporate and individual clients, including Geodis and DMO.
A former music professional with an international career spanning over 15 years, Marco Visconti has gained credence as a countercultural figure in the alternative underground scene. He is a founding member of electro industrial band XP8, and was a live member of Faderhead, Unter Null, Grendel, and VNV Nation. As DJ Azrael, his ministrations included Resistanz Festival, Club AntiChrist and Slimelight (UK), Death Guild (San Francisco, CA), Summer Darkness (Utrecht, NL), and Zoe Club, Decadence, and Ritual (Italy), and countless others.
A Thelemite and Freemason, Marco Visconti has been a prominent member of the international esoteric community for over two decades. Italian science-fiction author Francesco Dimitri pays tribute to Marco’s underground persona through his signature character Dagon in La Ragazza dei miei Sogni. A film adaptation was released in 2017 (trailer here). Marco was responsible for the translation of numerous key esoteric texts from English to Italian, such as Michael Bertiaux’s Lucky Hoodoo and Cosmic Meditation, and Kenneth Grant’s Against the Light and Cults of the Shadows.
